            Softball Recap: Owensboro Catholic Aces vs. Owensboro Red Devils        
        
		
        
        
            It may have taken  eight innings to finish the job, but Owensboro Catholic ultimately got the result they hoped for  on Sunday. They won by a  run and slipped past the Owensboro Red Devils  13-12. The  victory was a breath of fresh air for the Aces as it put an end to their seven-game losing streak.
Owensboro Catholic got a great performance from  Railey Scott as she  tossed six innings while giving up  three earned  (and two unearned) runs off   ten  hits.

 On the hitting side,  Carley Brey was a standout: she got on base  in three of her five plate appearances with one  home run and three  RBI. Those  three  RBI gave  her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Lily Logsdon, who  got on base  in three of her five plate appearances with three  runs, one  triple,  and one  RBI.
Owensboro Catholic's  win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 6-11. As for Owensboro,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 9-11.
 Coming up, Owensboro Catholic will welcome Meade County  at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Owensboro, they will venture away from home to  take on Apollo  at 5:30  p.m.  on Monday.
