Soccer Game Preview: Farmersville vs. Gainesville

Farmersville hasn't had much luck against Gainesville recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Farmersville Farmers will head out on the road to take on the Gainesville Leopards at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Farmersville will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal last Wednesday, then bounced right back against Bonham on Saturday. Everything went Farmersville's way against Bonham as Farmersville made off with a 9-1 win. Jairo Acosta was a massive factor in the win as he booted in three goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, Gainesville hasn't lost a match since February 4th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Bonham a 5-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for the Leopards in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won eight in a row.

Gainesville pushed their record up to 12-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four contests. As for Farmersville, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.

Farmersville suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to Gainesville in their previous matchup back in February. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Farmersville was down 3-0.
