Baseball Recap: Stroudsburg Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Stroudsburg not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 29th (when they won 15-0). They were the clear victors by a 14-6 margin over the East Stroudsburg North Timberwolves. The victory was familiar territory for the Mountaineers, who have now won three matches in a row.

AJ Trifilo was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Will Fergusson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Damian Budhai was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Stroudsburg's record now sits at 11-5. As for East Stroudsburg North, they dropped their record down to 3-14 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Stroudsburg will host Pocono Mountain West at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Mountaineers are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for East Stroudsburg North, they will head out to challenge Pocono Mountain East at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Cardinals will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
