The St. Monica Mariners are taking a road trip to take on the Foothill Tech Dragons at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. St. Monica is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

St. Monica blew Brentwood School out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Brentwood School got their revenge. St. Monica fell just short of Brentwood School by a score of 4-2. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Mariners couldn't push the score so high this time.

St. Monica saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Meyer, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Foothill Tech was not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Oxnard 4-3.

Shane White made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

St. Monica's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Foothill Tech, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

St. Monica's speedy runners might be the difference in Saturday's contest. St. Monica has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Foothill Tech, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will St. Monica continue to outrun the ball?
