Softball Recap: Pana Takes a Loss

Pana lost against Maroa-Forsyth back in April of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Panthers fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 9-8. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Shelby Ashcraft spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and three unearned) runs on 12 hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Izzy Reed was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Pana now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Maroa-Forsyth, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.

Coming up, Pana will head out on the road to take on Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Maroa-Forsyth, they will be playing at home against PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
