Softball Recap: Deep Run Gets the Win

Deep Run won the last time they faced Hermitage and things went their way on Tuesday too. Deep Run never let Hermitage get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Emily Plank and Hope Tate made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Plank tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Tate pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April of 2024. At bat, Plank scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Tate scored three runs while going 2-for-3. Those three runs gave Tate a new career-high.

In other batting news, Deep Run got a massive performance out of Gabby Chrapek, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4. What's more, Chrapek posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Brooke Black was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Deep Run now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Hermitage, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Deep Run will host St. Catherine's at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Catherine's will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Deep Run surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hermitage, they will be playing at home against Maggie Walker at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
