Basketball Game Preview: Dexter Bearcats vs. Poplar Bluff Mules

The Dexter Bearcats will head out to face off against the Poplar Bluff Mules at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

It was a proper cat-fight when Dexter took on Bloomfield on Friday. Dexter narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Bloomfield 54-51.

Meanwhile, Poplar Bluff waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 43-38 W against the Green Wave.

Dexter has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 10-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.6 points over those games. As for Poplar Bluff, their win bumped their record up to 14-8.

Dexter strolled past Poplar Bluff in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a score of 65-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dexter since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
