Baseball Recap: Danville Continues Road Dominance on Thursday

Danville never let their opponents score on Thursday. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over the Ohio County Eagles. While the Admirals didn't have the best season last year (they finished 14-23), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

The result came thanks to Dillon Cruver's shutout, as he gave up just four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Wyatt Gale was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Foster, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Danville pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Ohio County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Coincidentally, Danville and Ohio County will both be playing Wayne County the next time they take the field. The Admirals will head out to face the Cardinals at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Eagles will head out to face them at 9:00 a.m. on Friday.
