Baseball Game Preview: Blue River Valley Vikings vs. Wapahani Raiders

Blue River Valley is 1-8 against Wapahani since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Vikings will host the Raiders at 5:00 p.m. Blue River Valley has given up an average of 6.9 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Blue River Valley came up short against Knightstown on Thursday, falling 14-2.

Blue River Valley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was HUNTER KRAUS, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI. KYLER KECK also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Wapahani was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Yorktown.

Nate Luce spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

Blue River Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Wapahani, their loss dropped their record down to 13-7.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Blue River Valley has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Wapahani struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
