String Theory didn't have quite enough to beat the Thomas A. Edison Owls on Wednesday and fell 5-4. String Theory has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Anthony Putnick put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Putnick was also solid in the batter's box, earning one RBI, one run, and two stolen bases.

Putnick wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Dayvid Gonzalez, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

String Theory's loss dropped their record down to 6-4-2. As for Thomas A. Edison, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.

String Theory will head out on the road to square off against Community Academy of Philadelphia at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bruins have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.5 runs per game on average), something String Theory will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Thomas A. Edison, they have already played their next game, a 5-4 victory against Philadelphia Performing Arts on the 30th.
