Basketball Recap: Owen Valley Takes a Loss

Owen Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Cascade Cadets, falling 60-32. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cadets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2018.

Despite the defeat, Owen Valley saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kaden White posted 11 points and seven boards. White also brought in his first three-point shooting accuracy of the season. Dillon Bell was another key player, putting up seven points and five rebounds.

Owen Valley's loss dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Cascade, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.

Owen Valley has already played their next contest, a 59-55 victory against South Putnam on the 21st. As for Cascade, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 81-75 defeat against Phalen Leadership Academy on the 14th.
