Basketball Recap: Shawnee Takes a Loss

Shawnee was the 60-46 winner over Elida when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Shawnee Indians lost 52-30 to the Elida Bulldogs on Thursday.

Despite the loss, Shawnee still got an impressive performance from Kamryn Morris, who posted six points and three steals.

Even though they lost, Shawnee smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matches.

Shawnee has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Elida, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-3.

Shawnee wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 58-34 win against St. John's on the 16th. As for Elida, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 50-48 defeat against Kenton on the 19th.
