Softball Recap: Cony Comes Up Short

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Cony and Gardiner have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Tuesday. The Rams took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. The Rams have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Kya Douin was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run was her first of the season.

Cony's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Gardiner, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.

Cony does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Gardiner, they will host Skowhegan at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The last four games the River Hawks have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
