Baseball Recap: Morgan County's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Morgan County came into Tuesday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Elliott County Lions a 21-0 shutout on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 24-0 back in March.

Ian Havens made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Havens was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run.

In other batting news, Conner Fleming was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Grayson Hampton was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Morgan County's win bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Elliott County, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-7.
