Softball Recap: Warren Takes a Loss

Warren had lost six straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 2-10 to make it seven. They lost 6-0 to the Fort Frye Cadets. The Warriors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cadets earlier this season, when they won 6-5.

Warren saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bralynn Bonnette, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. Those hits were Bonnette's first of the season.

As for Fort Frye, they now have a winning record of 7-6. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by six runs or more this season.

On Fort Frye's side, the result came thanks to Elle Casto's shutout, as she gave up just seven hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Taylor Hendershot, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.

Coming up, Warren will challenge Belpre at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Fort Frye, they will take on Frontier at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars' pitching crew has only allowed 0.6 runs per game this season, so the Cadets' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
