Basketball Recap: Laney Comes Up Short

Laney easily dispatched Josey last Saturday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Laney Wildcats fell just short of the Thomson Bulldogs by a score of 61-59 on Tuesday. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Thomson was led to victory by Markevion Jones and Amon Few. Jones posted 23 points, while Few had 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaris Sinkfield, who put up six points.

Laney's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Thomson, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-6.

Laney will welcome Josey at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Thomson, they are taking a road trip to take on Burke County at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Burke County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66 points per game this season.
