Softball Game Preview: Ashland Hornets vs. Hodgdon Hawks

Ashland is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Hodgdon a four-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Wednesday. The Ashland Hornets will be playing at home against the Hodgdon Hawks at 4:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Ashland is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 14 runs on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Katahdin on Saturday. They lost 17-1 to the Cougars. The contest marked the Hornets' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, Hodgdon came up short against Fort Fairfield on Friday, falling 23-4.

Hodgdon's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Ashland, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Ashland got the 'W' in their previous matchup on May 15th against Hodgdon by a conclusive 23-5 score. Will the Hornets repeat their success, or do the Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
