It was another big night for Caleb Lapka, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and ten boards. He is becoming a predictor of Calvin Christian's success: when he posts at least 20 points the team is undefeated (and 2-3 when he doesn't). Micah Briones was another key player, putting up 11 points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Escondido, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 46-43 victory over Holtville on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cougars have posted since February 21st.

Calvin Christian's record is now 6-3. As for Escondido, their record now sits at 3-5.

Calvin Christian ended up a good deal behind Escondido in their previous meeting back in January, losing 55-38. Can the Crusaders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
