Football Game Preview: Hull-Daisetta Bobcats vs. West Hardin Oilers

For the first time this season, Hull-Daisetta will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will welcome the West Hardin Oilers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hull-Daisetta hasn't scored more than eight points for three games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

Hull-Daisetta's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Alto two weeks ago. They were beaten by the Yellowjackets 55-0.

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three matchup, West Hardin brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They came out on top against New Waverly by a score of 40-32 last Thursday. Considering the Oilers' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

West Hardin's win came from a few key players Hull-Daisetta will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Adrian Carillo, who rushed for 142 yards and one score on only 14 carries. Another player making a difference was Marcus Hashaw, who rushed for 52 yards and three touchdowns.

West Hardin was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 226 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive contests.

West Hardin didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Carillo and Owen Beauchamp. Beauchamp got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Hull-Daisetta's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for West Hardin, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
