Volleyball Recap: St. Anne Comes Up Short

St. Anne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Iroquois West Raiders. If the Cardinals were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Raiders when the teams met back in October of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Iroquois West scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-17.

Demi Duncan paced St. Anne's offense, picking up six kills. Duncan got some help from Tatum Kirkland and her ten assists. Duncan was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

St. Anne's loss dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Iroquois West, their victory bumped their record up to 4-21.

St. Anne wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Southland College Prep on the 23rd. As for Iroquois West, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Cissna Park on the 23rd.
