Baseball Game Preview: Biloxi Indians vs. Gulfport Admirals

For the second straight game, Biloxi will face off against Gulfport. Biloxi will welcome Gulfport at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Tuesday, Biloxi needed a bit of extra time to put away Gulfport. They had just enough and edged out the Admirals 5-4. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Indians as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Brody Nguyen looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in February.

At the plate, Adam Rugg was incredible, scoring a run and stealing five bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Connor Lofton was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Biloxi's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 7-8. As for Gulfport, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 11-5.

Biloxi's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's match. Biloxi has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Gulfport, though, as they've been averaging only 0.9 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Biloxi continue to outrun the ball?
