Volleyball Recap: Connetquot Extends Winning Streak to Three

Connetquot waltzed into their match on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Newfield Wolverines 3-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 on September 3rd.

Connetquot walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-6, 25-20.

Elena Carro was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had seven digs and two aces. Natalia 'Lala' Gil also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Connetquot was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Connetquot's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Newfield, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six matches and leaves them with a 6-3 record.

Coming up, Connetquot will face off against Eastport-South Manor at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Newfield, they will square off against Centereach at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
