Basketball Recap: Spring Grove Lions vs. LeRoy-Ostrander Cardinals
Make it 11 blowout wins for the Spring Grove Lions this season. They claimed a resounding 74-34 win over LeRoy-Ostrander at home. Winning may never get old, but Spring Grove sure is getting used to it with their ninth in a row.
Despite the loss, LeRoy-Ostrander still got an impressive performance from Camden Hungerholt, who scored 17 points along with eight steals and five rebounds. That was a full 50% of LeRoy-Ostrander's points, marking the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Carter Sweeney, who scored nine points.
Spring Grove pushed their record up to 16-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for LeRoy-Ostrander, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-14.
Coincidentally, Spring Grove and the Cardinals will both be playing the Wolverines the next time they take the court. Spring Grove will head out to face the Wolverines at 7:15 p.m. on Friday, while the Cardinals will host them at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
