Baseball Recap: Pahrump Valley Takes Down Virgin Valley in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Pahrump Valley had no trouble coming through when it counted. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the Virgin Valley Bulldogs on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won 15 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Andrew Zurn was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Zurn was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Chris Nelson was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Tony Whitney was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

The win made it two in a row for Pahrump Valley and bumps their season record up to 22-10-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Virgin Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 21-10-1.

Pahrump Valley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 8-4 win against Moapa Valley on the 9th. Virgin Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
