Basketball Recap: Sierra Vista's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

After flying high against Cheyenne on Monday, Sierra Vista came back down to earth. The Mountain Lions lost to the Enterprise Wolves on the road by a 67-49 margin on Thursday. The loss put an end to the Mountain Lions' undefeated start to the season.

When it comes to explaining why Sierra Vista lost, don't look at Donnayja Gibson. Despite the final result, she posted 19 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Gibson's big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 19 points. Avery Silvas was another key player, putting up three points in addition to six boards and four steals.

Leading Enterprise to victory were Hadlee Holt and Jaycee Barlow. Holt dropped a double-double with 24 points and 19 rebounds, while Barlow dropped a double-double with 24 points and 20 boards. Barlow continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Bentlee Rogers, who had four points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, Sierra Vista fell to 2-1. As for Enterprise, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Sierra Vista has already played their next game, a 62-32 victory against Monument Valley on the 5th. As for Enterprise, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 73-38 win against Rancho on the 5th.
