Volleyball Recap: Gabrielino Comes Up Short

Gabrielino entered their match against Marshall on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Gabrielino fell just short of Marshall by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Marshall this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in September.

Gabrielino took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 19-25, 22-25, 25-18, 15-13.

Marshall was led to victory by Harlem Castro and Livsey Teems. Castro had 14 digs and one assist, while Teems had 15 digs, eight kills, and six aces. Teems is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had six or more in each of the last 15 games she's played.

Gabrielino's defeat dropped their record down to 23-6-1. As for Marshall, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

Gabrielino will face off against San Marino at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Marshall, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Rosemead at 4:30 p.m.
