Basketball Game Preview: Boiling Springs Bulldogs vs. Lexington Wildcats

The Boiling Springs Bulldogs will head out on the road to square off against the Lexington Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Boiling Springs is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Last Friday, Boiling Springs was beaten by Gaffney 58-13. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while the Indians are ranked eighth).

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Karina Tsisun, who posted four points and seven boards.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Lexington over River Bluff in every quarter on their way to victory on Thursday. Lexington blew past River Bluff 64-40. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Boiling Springs better keep an eye on Izzy Saville. She was instrumental in Lexington's win, going 6-for-8 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and six rebounds. What's more, Saville also posted a 62% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024. Cassidy Harry was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Lexington smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Lexington is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. As for Boiling Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-17.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Boiling Springs has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 32.2 boards per game. However, it's not like Lexington struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29 rebounds.
