Basketball Game Preview: Niwot Cougars vs. Silver Creek Raptors

Niwot is 0-10 against Silver Creek since February of 2017 but things could change on Friday. The Niwot Cougars will host the Silver Creek Raptors at 7:00 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Niwot is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight game on Tuesday. They took a blow against Legacy, falling 76-44. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 239th, while the Lightning are ranked 46th).

Meanwhile, Silver Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 73-70 heartbreaker at the hands of Broomfield.

Silver Creek now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Niwot, their loss dropped their record down to 4-15.

Niwot was taken down by Silver Creek 80-32 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Thankfully for Niwot, Gabe Selby (who made all 6 shots he took racking up 17 points in addition to five assists and five boards) won't be suiting up this time.
