Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Seven Lakes). Everything went their way against the Katy Taylor Mustangs on Friday as Seven Lakes made off with a 12-1 victory. The Spartans not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 28, 2024.

James Levin spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up seven Ks. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (one).

On the hitting side, Christian Villamizar was a standout: he scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Aiden Cosser also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Seven Lakes moved to 13-7 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Katy Taylor, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-7-1.

Seven Lakes will have a chance to go back-to-back against Katy Taylor: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
