Basketball Recap: Glass Falls Short of Salem in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Glass can now relate to. They came up short against the Salem Spartans on Wednesday, falling 71-47. The Hilltoppers have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Bailey Rider was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a triple-double with 17 points, ten rebounds, and nine steals for Salem. Rider has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Gabby Crawley, who posted 13 points and six boards.

Glass' loss dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Salem, their victory was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 24-2.

Glass does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Salem, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Charlottesville at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Charlottesville's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 13 games.
