Flanagan hasn't had much luck against Stoneman Douglas recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when Flanagan Falcons take on Stoneman Douglas Eagles at 6:00 p.m. The last four games Flanagan has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
While Flanagan's victory against Dr. Krop wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Flanagan had just enough and edged out Dr. Krop 6-4.
Caden Corzo was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (two). He was also big at the plate, getting no hits from his three at bats. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season.
In other pitching news, Flanagan got a great performance from Ethan Cabrera as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Cabrera has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Miguel Colmenares was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Roberts, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Stoneman Douglas entered their tilt with Bishop Snyder on Thursday with 11 consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with 12. They never let the Cardinals get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. Considering the Eagles have won five contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Chase Wildroudt tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Stoneman Douglas let Bennett Gary and Nick Diaz run wild. Gary scored two runs while going 1-for-2, while Diaz went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Cade Raley was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Stoneman Douglas was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bishop Snyder only posted a batting average of .192.
Stoneman Douglas pushed their record up to 13-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Flanagan, their win bumped their record up to 5-10.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Flanagan hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Stoneman Douglas struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Flanagan couldn't quite get it done against Stoneman Douglas in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 7-4. Can Flanagan avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
