Softball Recap: Westside Find Success

Westside came out on top against Midland Trail on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fifth inning. The Renegades took their game against the Patriots 7-3. This was a revenge game for the Renegades: when they faced off against the Patriots back in April, they had to take a 16-3 defeat.

Paisley Shannon made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Shay Bailey was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

The victory made it two in a row for Westside and bumps their season record up to 11-10. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Midland Trail, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-13.

As of now, neither Westside nor the Patriots have any future games scheduled.
