Hesperia has gone 8-2 against Apple Valley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Scorpions will head out to take on the Sun Devils at 5:15 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hesperia has seven straight wins, Apple Valley has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
Hesperia will bounce into Monday's contest after beating Burroughs, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Scorpions narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Burros 3-2.
Hesperia was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (107-102), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-26, 19-25, 15-25, 25-22, 15-9.

Hesperia's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emily Ventroni led the charge by getting 20 digs and two aces. Ventroni has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last six times she's played. Deziree Mendoza was another key player, getting 18 digs and two aces.
Meanwhile, Apple Valley lost 3-0 to Serrano on Wednesday.
The final score came out to 25-20, 25-5, 25-16.
Apple Valley's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Hesperia, their win bumped their record up to 23-1.
Hesperia was able to grind out a solid victory over Apple Valley in their previous meeting back in September, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Scorpions since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
