Softball Game Preview: Shekinah Christian Flames vs. Genoa Christian Academy

The Shekinah Christian Flames will square off against Genoa Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Shekinah Christian is looking for their season's first win.

Things were looking good for Shekinah Christian after they put the first run on the board on Saturday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Northside Christian by a score of 12-11. Even if the Flames couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Mia Pierce and Ali Troyer stepped up to the plate in a big way. Pierce went 5-for-6 with three runs, while Troyer got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Abigail De Telder, who went 2-for-5 with two runs and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Genoa Christian Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Tree of Life Christian on Thursday and fell 7-6. Genoa Christian Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Shekinah Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Genoa Christian Academy, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
