Softball Recap: Ardrey Kell Triumphs

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Ardrey Kell walked away with it. They skirted past the South Mecklenburg Sabres 9-8. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Sabres recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Jenna Volturno made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over eight innings while giving up seven earned (and one unearned) runs off 11 hits. Volturno was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and one run. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Reagan Martin was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Arianna Hills was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.

Ardrey Kell hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 8-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Ardrey Kell's record now sits at 16-10. As for South Mecklenburg, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-13.

As of now, neither Ardrey Kell nor the Sabres have any future games scheduled.
