Volleyball Game Preview: St. Mary's Pirates vs. The Colorado Springs School Kodiaks

St. Mary is on a five-game streak of home losses, and The Colorado Springs School a four-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Saturday. The St. Mary's Pirates will be playing at home against The Colorado Springs School Kodiaks at 9:00 a.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

St. Mary's lost 3-0 to The Vanguard School on Thursday.

While St. Mary's ultimately came up short, they really made The Vanguard School work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 26-24, 25-20.

Meanwhile, The Colorado Springs School didn't have quite enough to beat Elbert last Thursday and fell 3-2.

The Colorado Springs School started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 18-25, 25-16, 25-15, 15-11.

The Colorado Springs School's loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for St. Mary's, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.

St. Mary's took their win against The Colorado Springs School in their previous meeting back in October of 2023 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Kodiaks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
