Football Game Preview: Greece Athena Trojans vs. Churchville-Chili Saints

The Greece Athena Trojans will head out on the road to challenge the Churchville-Chili Saints at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Greece Athena has given up an average of 38 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Greece Athena is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Irondequoit on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Trojans lost 46-20 to the Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 379th, while the Eagles are ranked 121st).

Meanwhile, Churchville-Chili entered their tilt with Canandaigua Academy on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Gray Wolves by a score of 43-36. The Saints' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Churchville-Chili's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Greece Athena, their defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3.

Greece Athena was dealt a bruising 33-0 loss at the hands of Churchville-Chili when the teams last played back in September of 2023. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
