Wellsville kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 53-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Heritage Christian Academy Chargers. The Eagles' defeat signaled the end of their 15-game winning streak dating back to last season.

Heritage Christian Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Declan Schoff, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Trey Chambers, who posted 15 points.

Wellsville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 62-54 win against Perry-Lecompton on the 10th. As for Heritage Christian Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 71-41 victory against Lebo on the 9th.
