Softball Game Preview: Paetow Panthers vs. Mayde Creek Rams

Paetow is 0-6 against Mayde Creek since February of 2023 but things could change on Tuesday. The Panthers will be playing at home against the Rams at 6:00 p.m. Paetow's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Mayde Creek's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Paetow proved they can win big on Friday (they won by six) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Edinburg 5-3. While the Panthers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Meanwhile, Mayde Creek fell victim to Jordan and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Warriors, falling 11-0. The Rams have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Paetow is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Mayde Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

Paetow couldn't quite get it done against Mayde Creek when the teams last played back in March of 2025 as they fell 5-0. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
