Baseball Game Preview: Seckinger Jaguars vs. Roswell Hornets

For the second straight game, Seckinger will face off against Roswell. The Jaguars are taking a road trip to face off against the Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Seckinger's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Roswell's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Wednesday, Seckinger needed a bit of extra time to put away Roswell. They had just enough and edged out the Hornets 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Jaguars have posted since February 15th.

Seckinger got a great performance from Shia Carnish as he struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Carnish has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Nicholas Fernandez, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. Sam Melanson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Seckinger moved to 14-9 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Roswell, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-8.
