Baseball Recap: Diamond Ranch Takes a Loss

Diamond Ranch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 11-6 to the Chaffey Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 4-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Gabriel Burruel and Ethan Lomeli did some serious damage despite the final result: Burruel scored two runs while going 3-for-4, while Lomeli went 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Lomeli a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Keith Houdashelt, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Diamond Ranch's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Chaffey, they moved to 4-6 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Diamond Ranch Panthers duke it out with Calvary Baptist Cougars at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Chaffey, they will face off against Don Lugo at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
