Two dominant signal callers in Ralph Enriquez Jr. and Tanner Knott are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Lone Pine Golden Eagles will stay at home for another week and welcome the Mammoth Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Lone Pine took on Frazier Mountain on Saturday. Lone Pine's defense stepped up to hand Frazier Mountain a 2-0 shutout. The two-point effort marked the Golden Eagles' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, Mammoth is ranked highly in their home state and two weeks ago they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Pahranagat Valley. Mammoth had to suffer through a 58-12 loss at the hands of Pahranagat Valley. The Huskies' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Eli Ericson, who picked up 40 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He was even better on defense, making 14 total tackles and defending three passes.

Mammoth wouldn't let Pahranagat Valley keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Mammoth can thank Knott and Kai Parks for forcing both of them. Parks is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in the last 15 games he's played dating back to last season.

Lone Pine's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. As for Mammoth, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Lone Pine ended up a good deal behind Mammoth when the teams last played back in September of 2023, losing 49-32. Thankfully for Lone Pine, Matthew Toomey (who rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 65 receiving yards) won't be suiting up this time.
