After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Madison Southern, Whitley County was happy to have turned things around  on Friday. They came out on top against the Wayne County Cardinals by a score of  5-2. The Colonels haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their third consecutive  win against them.
 Caleb Cureton looked comfortable as he  tossed 1.2 innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits.
 On the hitting side,  RJ Osborne was  excellent,  going a perfect 2-for-2 with one  run, one  double,  and one  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Jason Nunley, who  went 1-for-3 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  double.
Whitley County's victory bumped their record up to 26-6. As for Wayne County,  they are  on  a  five-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 12-14.
 Coming up, Whitley County will look to defend their home field  on Monday against Williamsburg  at 6:00  p.m. Wayne County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
