Baseball Game Preview: Covenant Christian Chargers vs. Allendale Falcons

The Covenant Christian Chargers will challenge the Allendale Falcons at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Covenant Christian's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Allendale has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

Covenant Christian's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 9-0 margin over Orchard View.

Andrew Pastoor made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over six innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Covenant Christian is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-12 otherwise. Pastoor was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Josh Schuiteman was excellent, earning one RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Colin Corson, who earned two RBI, one run, and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Allendale lost a heartbreaker to Lowell when they met on Monday, and they left with a heavy heart again on Wednesday. The Falcons came up short against the Red Arrows, falling 11-3.

Allendale's loss dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Covenant Christian, their win bumped their record up to 7-13.
