Basketball Recap: Del Mar Comes Up Short

Del Mar was the 69-61 winner over Hill when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Del Mar Dons fell 60-51 to the Hill Falcons on Friday.

Nicolas Huerta was his usual excellent self, shooting 6-for-10 from beyond the arc and almost dropping a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds for Hill. The dominant performance also gave Huerta a new career-high in steals (five). Anthony Sanchez was another key player, going 8 for 13 en route to 17 points in addition to five assists and four steals.

Del Mar's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Hill, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-15 record this season.

Del Mar will venture away from home to challenge Overfelt at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Hill, they will welcome Yerba Buena at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
