 Lake Arthur and Vinton are an even 5-5 against one another  since March of 2017, but likely not for long. The Lake Arthur Tigers will look to defend their home field  on Thursday against the Vinton Lions at 5:00  p.m. Lake Arthur is coming into the  contest on  a  four-game losing streak.
 While Lake Arthur couldn't quite beat DeQuincy on Tuesday, the two-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the ten-point  loss they were dealt  on Thursday. Lake Arthur fell just short of DeQuincy by a score of  9-7.
  Addison Abshire was cooking despite her team's loss,   scoring two  runs while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of  Vivian Sketoe, who  went 2-for-4 with a  stolen base, two  RBI,  and a  double.
 Meanwhile, Vinton was able to grind out a solid  victory over Grand Lake on Tuesday, taking the game  13-8.
 Lake Arthur's defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Vinton, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won six of their last seven matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 12-14 record  this season.
 Lake Arthur might still be hurting after the  11-0 loss they got from Vinton  in their previous meeting  back in March. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of  Vinton's  Jaycie O'Conner, who   kept things locked down with   no  earned runs or hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Now that Lake Arthur knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
