Baseball Recap: Houston County Fighting Irish vs. Stewart County Rebels

Houston County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 13-3 to the Stewart County Rebels. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rebels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-1 last Monday.

Ryder Forrester and Connor Mahoney stepped up to the plate in a big way. Forrester scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Mahoney went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Mahoney hit this season.

Houston County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Stewart County, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.

Looking ahead, Houston County will host Kenwood at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Houston County has given up an average of 13.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Stewart County, they will head out to square off against Bradford at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Bradford is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.
