Volleyball Recap: Holland Wins High-Profile Matchup Against Fruitport

Holland faced Fruitport in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Dutch came out on top against the Trojans by a score of 2-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Dutch.

Benjamin Fletter paced Holland's offense, picking up nine kills. Fletter got some help from Ethan (Adam) Mercado and his nine assists. Finally, Fletter was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Holland's victory bumped their record up to 9-19-1. As for Fruitport, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Holland has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Grand Haven on the 14th. Fruitport has also already played their next contest (against Spring Lake), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
