Basketball Recap: North Cobb's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak on the Road

North Cobb posted their closest victory since December 12, 2023 on Saturday. They skirted past the Pope Greyhounds 54-51. The win was all the more spectacular given the Warriors' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 415th, while the Greyhounds are ranked 60th).

North Cobb's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-9. As for Pope, they moved to 10-3 with that loss, which also ended their eight-game winning streak.

North Cobb will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Kennesaw Mountain at 4:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025. Pope and Dacula will round out the year against one another at at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Dacula has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 0-3 during that stretch of close contests.
