Volleyball Recap: Northwest Texans vs. Trinity Trojans

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Byron Nelson, Northwest was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Everything went their way against the Trinity Trojans as the Northwest Texans made off with a 3-0 victory. The Texans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Trojans, too.

Northwest got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 30-28, 25-10, 25-20.

Levariya Pinder paced Northwest's offense, picking up 22 kills. Pinder got some help from Payton Zondor and her 39 assists. Zondor also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Ava Riggio, racking up two apiece.

Northwest's win bumped their record up to 24-13. As for Trinity, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 16 of their last 17 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-27 record this season.

Northwest will square off against Timber Creek at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Timber Creek is coming into the contest with five straight defeats on the road, meaning Northwest will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. As for Trinity, they will face off against Bell at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Trinity is facing Bell at the right time seeing as Bell is stuck on a 14-game losing streak.
